I am deeply troubled by the Tunisian government’s decision today to release one of the only detained suspects from the Benghazi terrorist attack. Almost four months to the day after the attack, it is concerning how little progress has been... made in bringing the terrorists -- responsible for killing four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador, and destroying two U.S. facilities -- to justice. This latest development only underscores the need for a House Select Committee on the Terrorist Attack in Benghazi to ensure every effort is made to bring those responsible to justice.

I want to share my statement on my vote on H.R. 8, which passed the House last night by a vote of 257-167. For more than six years, I have spoken out about the need to “go big,” put everything -- tax, entitlement and discretionary spending... -- on the table and make the tough choices to get our nation’s fiscal house in order. Unfortunately, H.R. 8 fell far short of these objectives, which why I was unable to support it.
