  1. To follow up on my statement yesterday, I wanted to share this video of my interview on Fox News this afternoon where I discussed the unexpected release of the main suspect in the Benghazi attack and the need for a House Select Committee to investigate those responsible for this terrorist attack.

  3. I am deeply troubled by the Tunisian government’s decision today to release one of the only detained suspects from the Benghazi terrorist attack. Almost four months to the day after the attack, it is concerning how little progress has been... made in bringing the terrorists -- responsible for killing four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador, and destroying two U.S. facilities -- to justice. This latest development only underscores the need for a House Select Committee on the Terrorist Attack in Benghazi to ensure every effort is made to bring those responsible to justice.

  4. With the 113th Congress convening for the first time this afternoon, I want to share that I am an original cosponsor of the Balanced Budget Amendment, which will be reintroduced today by my Virginia colleague, Bob Goodlatte. I am proud to once again represent the citizens of Virginia’s 10th District and I remain committed to cutting spending and balancing our nation’s budget.
  5. I want to share my statement on my vote on H.R. 8, which passed the House last night by a vote of 257-167. For more than six years, I have spoken out about the need to “go big,” put everything -- tax, entitlement and discretionary spending... -- on the table and make the tough choices to get our nation’s fiscal house in order. Unfortunately, H.R. 8 fell far short of these objectives, which why I was unable to support it.

  6. I want to share a recent article I wrote for International Economy Magazine on the growing threat of Chinese cyber espionage targeting our government and private U.S. businesses. The cyberattacks are not only putting our national security at risk, they are undermining job creation and economic recovery in the U.S.

  7. Today I spoke on the House floor to reiterate my demand that the U.S. cut off all foreign aid to Tunisia because the African nation won’t allow the FBI to interview a key suspect in the Benghazi terrorist attack. My statement follows a let...ter I sent yesterday to Secretary Clinton urging her to cut U.S. aid to Tunisia.

  8. Yesterday I attended an event celebrating the completion of the traffic-calming project on Route 50 in Aldie. The project will slow traffic and increase safety as drivers are now transitioned to the town speed limit with landscaping, sidew...alks and raised crosswalks. I am pleased to see another traffic-calming project on Route 50 completed, and look forward to the next phase being completed in Middleburg. Here are a few photos from the event.See More
