Upholding the Constitution

Upholding the Constitution

On September 17, 1787, thirty-nine American visionaries applied their signatures to one of the greatest documents in human history: the United States Constitution. More than 224 years later, the timeless principles embodied in our founding framework remain as relevant as ever.

As a founding member of the Bay Patriots, a volunteer organization that teaches children and adults from across North and Northwest Florida about their government and the importance of the Constitution, I proudly read a portion of the Constitution as my first official House floor speech. One of my first votes was to require a constitutional justification for any legislation introduced in the House.

With each vote I take on behalf of the people of Florida’s Second Congressional District, I will continue to use the Constitution as my guide.
