Boustany Votes to Repeal 3% Withholding Provision While Increasing Employment Opportunities for Veterans

(Washington, DC) -  Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 674, to Repeal of 3 Percent Withholding Provision on Government Contractors:

“This bipartisan supported legislation permanently repeals the 3% withholding requirement on certain payments to contractors doing business with federal, state, and local governments. This gives more certainty to small businesses and employers across our country that will enable them to hire and put Americans back to work.

“In addition, the Senate’s provisions relating to veterans addresses the need to increase employment opportunities for those who have served in our nation’s military. I am proud to have supported this bill.”
