Boustany Comments on Passage of Continuing Resolution

Washington, DC– U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. (R-Southwest Louisiana) today applauded the passage of the Continuing Resolution in the House of Representatives:

“After much debate and numerous amendments to ensure appropriate cuts are made, this Congress has already done what the previous Congress could not,”Boustany said. “Our debate was one of the most open proceedings of this nature in years. When the American people spoke last November, they made it clear they wanted cuts in spending so our children and grandchildren aren’t paying for the fiscal mistakes made over the past few years. The vote today is a huge step toward that goal, but our work is not done.  Getting our economy back in order will take time and will require many difficult votes, and I am prepared to make them.”
