“It is important for people in Southwest Louisiana to find out if they qualify for the tax rebates,” Boustany said. “Some who would not normally have filed a tax form will need to do so to ensure they receive their check, and there are groups that specialize in answering tax questions.”

 

Tax-rebate checks will be delivered beginning in May. Individuals are eligible for rebates of up to $600 and couples are eligible for up to $1,200. In addition, families who qualify will receive rebates of $300 per child. Individuals making up to $75,000 adjusted gross income and couples making up to $150,000 are eligible.
