Boustany Commends New Gulf Coast Rebuilding Coordinator, Major General Doug O'Dell

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., MD, R-Southwest Louisiana, today made the following statement after Major General Doug O’Dell was appointed to head the Office of Gulf Coast Rebuilding.

I am confident Major General O’Dell will continue the good effort Donald Powell began,” Boustany said. “We have made strides to rebuild all of Louisiana, but much remains to be done. I look forward to working with Major General O’Dell on rebuilding Southwest Louisiana, making our area safer.”

Created in November 2005, the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding is responsible for orchestrating all federal response to Hurricanes Rita and Katrina.
