Breaux Bridge Native Interns in Boustany Office

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. (R-Southwest Louisiana) welcomed Breaux Bridge native Austin Hebert as a summer intern in his Washington office.  Hebert, a finance major at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, will work in Boustany’s Washington office until the end of June.

“Austin is a great addition to my Washington staff,” Boustany said. “This experience provides him the opportunity to learn the legislative process and assist the many Southwest Louisiana residents who visit our office every day.  Austin is a bright student and I look forward to following his success in the coming years.”

Boustany makes every effort to treat interns as members of his staff.  They attend briefings and committee hearings, respond to constituent mail and assist other staff members when needed.

“To walk among the leaders of our nation is both inspiring and surreal. Congressman Boustany has provided me a remarkable opportunity to witness and take part in the inner workings of our legislative branch,” Hebert said.
