Boustany Applauds Supreme Court's Decision to Hear Constitutionality of Obamacare

(Washington, DC) -  Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana), issued the following statement in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to hear the case challenging the constitutionality of the president’s health care law:

“The president’s overreaching health-care law requiring all Americans to buy Washington-approved health insurance by 2014 or face a severe penalty is finally being heard by the nation’s highest court. This law is not only a threat to the quality and affordability of our country’s current health-care system, but it also threatens to bankrupt many of our nation’s job creators. While the court system hears this case, House Republicans continue to support the elimination of the president’s health-care law in its entirety. Now is the time to repeal and replace Obamacare with legitimate patient-centered solutions that will lower costs and promote the doctor-patient relationship without causing serious damage to our nation’s economy.”
