Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., R-Southwest Louisiana, today made the following statement after House Democrats unveiled a massive health care reform plan.

“The Democrats’ health plan with massive government bureaucracy fails to put patients and their doctors at the center of American health care,” Boustany said.  “Republicans and Democrats agree on many of the goals for health care reform, but today’s Democratic proposal simply adds layers of red-tape and will ultimately lead to denials in care and limited options for patients.  Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle need to work together to produce real results for American patients and taxpayers.”
