Boustany Meets With Chennault International Airport Authority to Discuss Potential Development of New Jobs, Facility Additions

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. (R-Southwest Louisiana) met with officials today from the Chennault International Airport Authority to discuss the company’s potential opportunities to create new jobs.

Chennault provides the Lake Charles area a tremendous advantage for economic growth,” Boustany said. “Creating new jobs in Southwest Louisiana is critical to helping our region keep our best and brightest young people.  These leaders recognize the effort that is going to be required to achieve this goal.

Boustany continues to support job creation throughout Southwest Louisiana, working to identify competitive grants and other economic development opportunities.

Chennault leaders traveled to Washington to build support for continued growth of businesses with facilities at the airport, including Northrup Grumman and AEROFRAME.  The growth and expansion of existing businesses at Chennault could create new, high-paying jobs in Southwest Louisiana and bring about improvements to airport infrastructure.

Attendees at the meeting included Chennault CEO Randy Robb, Chennault Board Member Louis Haxthausen, Vice President of Public Policy at the Southwest Chamber Monique Thierry, and former State Senator Jerry Theunissen.
