Vitter, Boustany Announce Funding for Crowley Fire Department

Washington, D.C.  – U.S. Senator David Vitter and U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded a grant in the amount of $66,690 to the Crowley Fire Department.  The grant is funded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program.

“This is great news for Crowley firefighters.  Firefighters and other first responders are critical to every community, and it is important that they have access to up-to-date equipment,” said Vitter.

“This grant is great news for the firefighters in Crowley, as well the residents of Acadia Parish,” Boustany said.  “The Crowley Fire Department has always been known for its professionalism and service, and this funding will allow them to expand and enhance their day-to-day operations.”

The primary goal of the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical services organizations.  Operations and Firefighter Safety Programs include training, equipment, personal protective equipment, wellness and fitness, and modifications to fire stations and facilities.
