Boustany- "This Democratic Budget is Simply a Tax Hike on Working Families"

Washington, D.C.  – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., MD, R-Southwest Louisiana, today appealed to Democratic House leaders to rethink the Democratic budget proposal’s tax increases and wasteful spending.
 
“Tax increases on working families and small business are no way to govern,” Boustany said. “Growing our economy, helping American entrepreneurs and allowing more families to keep more of their money are what a responsible budget should do. This Democratic budget is simply a wasteful tax hike on working families. We need a budget that will lead to American prosperity.”
 
The Democratic budget proposal includes a massive $683 billion tax increase in order to finance wasteful Washington spending. 116 million taxpayers will face an average tax hike of $1,833 under the Democratic plan. While failing to address growing entitlement programs, House Democrats are proposing tens of billions more in new federal spending facilitated by the tax increase.
 
Announced today, the Democratic budget will be debated over the next two weeks in Committee.
