Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. (R-La.) today issued the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court decision to uphold the nationwide ban on partial-birth abortion procedures:

“Today’s ruling is a long awaited victory for the majority of Americans that oppose the horrible practice of partial-birth abortion.  

“As a physician, I have dedicated my life to healing and nurturing human life.  As a Member of Congress, I will continue to ensure that the right to life is never violated.  

“I applaud the court for this decision, and I hope that it will lead to further advances in preserving the sanctity of human life.”
