VINCENNES, IND. (WTHI) -       A pair of Wabash Valley congressmen take the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to task claiming it is hurting the energy business.

Illinois 19th District Congressman John Shimkus and Indiana 8th District Representative Larry Bucshon met with energy companies in Vincennes.
Afterwards the 2 republican congressmen called for EPA to reign in regulations.

"When we have an EPA right now that's going after the coal industry," said Congressman Bucshon.  "I have serious concerns about our ability to produce low cost energy in our state."

"As we raise the cost of compliance through rules and regulations by the national EPA those costs will be passed on to the individual consumer," added Congressman Shimkus.

Both congressmen say they favor a "all the above" energy approach that includes coal, oil, natural gas, and green energy sources.
