  7. I want to extend best wishes to all residents of the Virgin Islands, and their extended families and friends for a healthy and prosperous New Year.

As we close out this Old Year, we remember all those who left us this year, whether in the tragedy of war or crime, or by suffering, accident or illness. Despite the challenges we face at this time, let us move forward in unity into the New Year with ...the purpose of making the lives of those in our families, our work places and our entire community better than it was last year, and to set us on a meaningful, sustainable path for the future.

I also wish Virgin Islanders a joyful and safe Crucian Christmas Festival Celebration! I'm missing out on some events since Congress has to stay and work, but I hope to be home for the Festival Adults Parade.

  8. I happily extend Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanzaa greetings to all residents of the Virgin Islands and best wishes for a safe and enjoyable Crucian Christmas Festival.

May each of you enjoy the blessings that these holidays bring to us all, to include celebrating the birth of Christ and the importance of community. And as we enjoy all of the festivities, it is a good time to renew the ties that ...bind and to share God’s love with those around us.

Through these challenging times, remember that this is a season of hope. That hope and our faith, natural resiliency and a sense of community are what will get us through these difficult times.

I also would like to extend special Christmas greetings to the men and women serving our country overseas. We should keep them in our prayers especially in this time when they are far away from the embrace of family and friends.
