 Jean-Sebastien Giguere-G-DucksOct. 11 - 12:04 pm et
Jean-Sebastien Giguere may start for Anaheim on Sunday against the Rangers.
Jonas Hiller played last night and made 33 stops in a 3-2 shootout win over the Flyers and has started the past two games for the Ducks; both of them victories. Coach Randy Carlyle usually rewards his goaltenders when they win, but in the interest of rest and competition it seems as though Giguere could get the nod. We will let you know if we hear anything, but again do not expect much news about starting goalies from the Ducks.

 Alex Ovechkin-W-CapitalsOct. 11 - 11:50 am et
Alex Ovechkin has launched 18 shots on opposing goaltenders over the past two games, but has not found the back of the net.
If this was any other player in the league not scoring in two games would be nothing to worry about, but since it is Ovechkin it makes the news. He contributed an assist in Washington's 3-2 loss to Detroit on Saturday, while firing nine shots and being credited with 10 hits. However, Ovechkin still leads the league with 10 points in just five games and is a must-start whenever the Capitals play.

 Joey MacDonald-G-Maple LeafsOct. 11 - 11:41 am et
Joey MacDonald may get into some games soon for the Maple Leafs after all.
Coach Ron Wilson said earlier this week that Vesa Toskala would likely play the next three games with Swedish netminder Jonas Gustavsson out with a groin injury. However, after the Leafs lost 5-2 to Pittsburgh on Saturday the Toronto bench boss back-peddled a little. "We're going to look at the tape and make a decision. It's three games in four nights, so there's a good chance that Joey MacDonald will get one of the games," Wilson said. "It makes sense because he's here and he did play well at training camp. It's not anything against Vesa. It's hard early in the season to be playing back-to-back games in goal." MacDonald was called up from the minors after Gustavsson's injury.

 Mike Smith-G-LightningOct. 11 - 11:31 am et
Mike Smith is expected to return to the Lightning crease on Monday night against the Panthers.
The Bolts' number one goalie sustained a slight back injury after being involved in a collision with New Jersey forward Jamie Langenbrunner on Thursday night. Smith could have started Saturday's game if they wanted him to, but coach Rick Tocchet said it was backup Antero Niittymaki's turn to play. The rest probably did him good in any event.

 Danny Syvret-D-FlyersOct. 11 - 11:19 am et
Danny Syvret sat as a healthy scratch for the Flyers on Saturday.
He has appeared in three games for Philadelphia this campaign, but has has little impact fantasy-wise. Syvret has two penalty minutes and a minus-1 rating this season.

 Mike Fisher-C-SenatorsOct. 11 - 11:12 am et
Mike Fisher played on the Senators' top line on Saturday night.
He skated between snipers Daniel Alfredsson and Alex Kovalev and looked good notching a goal and an assist in Ottawa's 4-2 win over Atlanta. Fisher ended up scoring the game's winning marker on the power play in the contest; albeit on the second unit. "I'm excited," Fisher said talking about his new line. "I think we can really dominate -- be patient with pucks, and cycle. I'm just going to try to open up space for them, use my speed and get them the puck." Jason Spezza skated on the top power-play unit, but centered the second line with Nick Foligno and Milan Michalek during even strength play.

 Stephen Valiquette-G-RangersOct. 11 - 10:56 am et
Stephen Valiquette will get the nod for the Rangers on Sunday versus Anaheim.
The Rangers play again on Monday when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs and Henrik Lundqvist will start between the pipes for that game. This will be Valiquette's first contest of the season. He posted a 5-5-2 record in 15 games last season, earning a .907 save percentage and a 2.84 goals-against average.
