Liberty Band Nominated by McCaskill Selected to Play at the Inauguration Day Parade

Senator wrote a letter of recommendation highlighting the band’s contribution to Missouri

December 20, 2012

WASHINGTON - A Liberty marching band nominated by U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill has been selected to play at the Presidential Inauguration Day Parade in Washington, D.C on January 21.

"I'm thrilled the kids at Liberty North High School will have the opportunity to represent Missouri and help our country celebrate such an important day," McCaskill said. "They have a history of music excellence in the community and I look forward to hearing them share that with the rest of the country."

The Liberty North High School Band was chosen from a pool of nearly 2,800 applicants. The band, directed by Shane Fuller, has received awards for outstanding field, show, parade and overall musicality.
