Congressman Forbes voted to oppose H.R. 1064, the Youth PROMISE Act in a House Judiciary Committee markup. The bill only focuses on prevention of gang-related violence and ignores the need for enforcement. Furthermore, many of the programs in the bill are nearly identical to those already being carried out by the Department of Justice. If fully implemented, this legislation would cost taxpayers $1.2 billion over the next five years. Honored World War II heroes.
