E-ZPass MA Program

EZPass_LogoWelcome to E-ZPass MA, Massachusetts Department of Transportation Electronic Toll Collection Program. E-ZPass is operational on the entire Massachusetts Turnpike including the Sumner and Ted Williams Tunnels, and on the Tobin Memorial Bridge. Click here to see where E-ZPass is accepted.

E-ZPass provides customers with electronic toll collection through the use of a transponder. A transponder is a small electronic device that attaches to the inside of your windshield. As you pass through a designated lane, a green "Thank You" light will flash to verify your transaction is being approved and recorded to your account.

questions and comments are welcomed. Please visit our list of Frequently Asked Questions, and if you do not find the answer to your question, please call Customer Service at 1-877-627-7745.

E-ZPass MA Applications

There are several ways individuals can become members of the E-ZPass MA program:

Toll Payment Options

Automatic Account Replenishment: Assign a credit/debit card or checking account number to open your account. The selected toll payment option will then be charged the initial $20.00 payment for an individual account or $50.00 payment for a commercial account that does not require a bond. Tolls are automatically deducted from the initial payment. When your account falls below the low balance threshold, you will see the yellow "Low Bal" light in the lane; this indicates your account will be automatically replenished via your credit/debit card or checking account.

Manual Account Replenishment: Open your account with the initial $20.00 payment for an individual account or $50.00 payment for a commercial account that does not require a bond. Tolls are automatically deducted from the initial payment. When your account falls below the low balance threshold, you will see the yellow "Low Bal" light in the lane; this indicates that you are required to make a payment. Payments can be made by mailing a check to the E-ZPass MA Customer Service Center, 27 Midstate Drive, Auburn, MA 01501 or paying by cash or credit/debit card at any of the walk-in Customer Service Centers.
