Rep. Olson Visits Needville Middle School

Washington, DC – Rep. Pete Olson visited Needville Middle School on Friday where he toured the school with their Principal, Marla Sebesta.  He viewed expansions that are underway at the school, visited classes and spoke to the 6th grade assembly of students

“It’s never too early to learn good study habits,” Olson urged the students.  “It is important to study and work hard to get the best possible education,” he added.  Olson also encouraged the students to get their college degrees, and not let anyone or anything deter them from pursuing their dreams.

Students asked Olson a range of questions from "Why did you want to be a Congressman," or "What was flying a plane like in the Navy," and "Is it true that the White House is haunted?"

Olson also encouraged the Needville High School girls’ softball team before they headed off to the regional playoffs in Shiner that evening.   As 2009 State Champions, Olson applauded their victory on the House floor.  The remarks in the Congressional Record can found here.
