“Hello, this is Congressman Hal Rogers.

"President Obama's war on coal has rocked our region, sending hundreds of coal miners straight to the unemployment line. Through red tape, rule changes, and permit delays, the Obama Administration is determined to put coal out of business and turn the lights off on our mining families.

"You have my word that I'm fighting tooth and nail against the extreme agenda of EPA chief Lisa Jackson, Barack Obama and others who are jeopardizing our jobs and our nation's energy security. I'm doing everything in my power to stand up for coal mining families and fight back for Kentucky's proud coal communities."

Rogers has served Kentucky’s 5th Congressional District since 1981. With a focus on economic development, job creation, fighting illegal drugs and preserving southern and eastern Kentucky’s natural treasures, he has a reputation for listening to his constituents and fighting for the region he represents.
