Biography

Scott Rigell was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Virginia�s Second Congressional District in November 2010. Scott defeated the incumbent by nearly 11 points in a three way race that was consistently ranked among the top 10 House races across the country.

Scott is a community leader and business owner from Virginia Beach, Virginia. The founder and Chairman of Freedom Automotive, Scott and his wife Teri own several automobile dealerships in Hampton Roads. He was recently inducted into the Hampton Roads Business Hall of Fame.

Scott served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, rising to the rank of Sergeant before an honorable discharge after six years. He earned his B.B.A. from Mercer University and his M.B.A. from Regent University in Virginia Beach. In 2010, the Regent School of Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship named Scott as their "Alumni of the Year."

Scott and Teri are members of Trinity Church in Virginia Beach, where Scott was a founding elder. They are the proud parents of four grown children: Lindsey, Mallory, Justus and Shannon, and they are delighted to have their first grandson, Parks.
