Get Legal Help Volunteer for VLP About VLP Volunteer Resources About Pro Bono

The Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) coordinates the volunteer efforts of Maine attorneys and community members to help low-income people navigate the civil justice system. We provide free information, brief assistance and pro bono legal representation in civil legal matters to qualifying clients. Our volunteers give low-income Mainers the tools and the know-how to be equal participants in our legal system.

"VLP volunteers exemplify the heart of Maine by helping to guarantee that our legal system serves all Mainers regardless of income."

Governor John E. Baldacci

"The time and expertise the VLP volunteers gave showed me they value me as a person. Now I have the self-confidence to stand up for myself when legal problems arise. Thank you for your help!"
