Speaker Boehner says the president's fiscal cliff plan "does not fulfill his promise to bring a balanced approach to solving this problem. It’s mainly tax hikes. And his plan does not begin to solve our debt crisis. It actually increases spending." http://www.speaker.gov/video/speaker-boehner-president-s-plan-not-balanced-does-not-begin-solve-debt-crisis

While President Obama is demanding tax rate hikes on small businesses, former Clinton White House Chief of Staff and Democrat Erskine Bowles  told CBS Face the Nation, "We have to cut spending." ... "Even if you raise the top rates back to the Clinton rates, that only creates about $400 billion over 10 years. That's $40 billion a year. We have a trillion dollar a year deficit," said Bowles. And the spending cuts offered by the president - which are dwarfed by the new 'stimulus' spending he proposes - are "not enough. We're going to have to do more." http://www.speaker.gov/video/bowles-we-have-cut-spending

"When it comes to the fiscal cliff that is threatening our economy and threatening jobs, the White House has wasted another week. ... Instead of reforming the tax code and cutting spending, the president wants to raise tax rates. But even if the president got the tax rate hike that he wanted, understand that we would continue to see trillion dollar deficits for as far as the eye can see. Listen, Washington’s got a spending problem, not a revenue problem.” http://www.speaker.gov/video/speaker-boehner-white-house-has-wasted-another-week-slow-walking-economy-edge-fiscal-cliff

Speaker Boehner: "This week we made a good-faith offer to avert the fiscal crisis and that offer included significant spending cuts and reforms, and it included additional revenue.  And frankly it was the balanced approach that the president’s been asking for. Once again YOU are correct but you are still left.  The only reason that this happened is because Big "O" is because he gave away the store to all the people that sold their votes for pieces of silver.  The Hispanics (made up race just like the Latinos) were promised amnesty (aint gonna happen) college students were promised lower rates on student loans (but it will increase tuition costs, to be paid for later by the taxpayers, you remember them, the donkeys that still labor to pay and pay for the give a ways) they will not find decent jobs because there aren't any.  The African American (another group name made up by the Demolackys) community goes along because they still believe Big"O" is the second coming but he ain't coming to the "GHETTO" they still haven't figured it out yet.  As far as giving your guy a chance no problem just as long as the feckless gutless press does the job it should have done first because if Obamaloney had been a Republican candidate they would have run him out of town on a rail.  just remember this, now that the useful idiots have figured out how  to give themselves goodies galore they will get all the goodies...

In a letter sent to President Obama today, House Republican leaders made a new offer to avert the fiscal cliff centered around a middle ground approach first presented to Congress by President Clinton’s former White House chief of staff, Erskine Bowles. The Bowles plan, presented in 2011 to the Joint Select Commitee on Deficit Reduction, is consistent with the framework House Speaker John Boehner (...Expand this post »

President Obama will be “employing campaign-style tactics” in Pennsylvania today at a small business whose taxes would increase under his unserious fiscal cliff proposal. But just 15 miles down the road from the rally is a small business that can’t afford to pay the higher tax rates the president demands. Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) office sat down with Jerry Gorski of Gorski Engineering, who said, “our company has figured out how to survive in this economy and the first thing we want to do with any income I have is tax it? That’s uncertainty.” Watch it here: http://www.speaker.gov/video/small-business-america
