If the price milk is supposed to go up to $8 a gallon without the farm subsidy, that means that it already does cost that much, but deficit spending by the government takes money from our grandchildren so that we can have bread and circuses now.

Please ask Sen McConnell to re-read his constitution, and then go and flush his head: "Article 1. Section 7. All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills."

  2. AS THE CLOCK TICKS, THE SENATE WASTES TIME -- The House of Representatives has approved bipartisan legislation to avoid the fiscal cliff. Ours is a truly balanced approach that cuts spending and helps our economy grow by preventing harmful tax increases, and it's waiting in the Senate.

The Sequester Replacement Reconciliation Act makes responsible spending cuts and passed the House on May 10, 201...2. The Job Protection and Recession Prevention Act -- which stops the tax increases on income, savings and investment set to kick in on Jan. 1 -- passed the House with bipartisan support of 19 Democrats on August 1, 2012.

Senate Democrats, on the other hand, have just been wasting time.

Article I, Section 7 of the Constitution requires that "All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives." The Senate's bill does NOT meet this constitutional requirement, so it has NOT left the Senate Chamber.

To avoid the fiscal cliff, Senator Reid and his colleagues should accept the House-passed plan or approve an acceptable alternative.
