On Feb. 23, 2010, Senator Warner commemorated the 65th anniversary of the raising of the U.S. flag at Iwo Jima by attending a wreath-laying ceremony at the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial in Arlington, Va. He was joined by his father, Robert, who fought in the battle at Iwo Jima.
