Jobless rates down in 45 states in November; payroll jobs up in 30 states, down in 20

In November, 45 states and the District of Columbia reported over-the-month unemployment rate decreases and 5 states had no change. Nonfarm payroll employment increased in 30 states and decreased in 20 states and the district.

In November, employers took 1,759 mass layoff actions involving 173,558 workers. Mass layoff events increased by 399 from October, and associated initial claims increased by 42,385.
