U.S. Capitol Tours

The Capitol Visitor Center, a multi-more million dollar project that more than doubled the size of the U.S. Capitol opened on December 2, 2008. This new addition showcases the history of the country and allows more people access to this amazing structure.

The Capitol Visitor Center is open to visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Inauguration Day. Tours of the U.S. Capitol are conducted from 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., Monday through Saturday by the Capitol Guide Service.

If you are looking for a more personal tour of the Capitol, my staff can be of assistance if arrangements are made in advance of your trip. Please fill out the tour request form to schedule a staff-lead tour of the Capitol.

House and Senate Galleries are open when the Chambers are in session. You can sit in the galleries to watch the debate by obtaining a free pass from my office. Please stop by my Washington, D.C. office to obtain gallery passes.
