Internship Program
A Congressional internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience, and observe first-hand how our government operates. We welcome and encourage all that are interested in either full or part-time internships to submit their resumes. Interns gain practical work experience by undertaking a variety of administrative and legislative responsibilities in the office.
Interns conduct research, assist with constituent services, mail and draft correspondence among many other duties. Interns in all offices maintain responsibility for answering phones, data entry and general office systems operations. Interns are an important part of the Congressional staff. Internships are available expressly for the purpose of furthering educational and professional objectives; therefore they are unpaid and awarded to undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates.
Application Process
Rep. Schwartz’s district and Washington offices are currently accepting applications for internships. Priority is given to applicants from Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, although all interested persons are encouraged to apply. Selection is based on an applicant's skills, office and educational experience. To apply, send a cover letter specifying office preference and resume to:
