Washington, DC – Today, Representative John Culberson (TX-7) issued the following statement after the Republican Steering Committee ratified his appointment as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations in the 113th Congress.

“I am honored that my House Republican colleagues have chosen me to continue to chair the Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs. I look forward to working with Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY) and my colleagues on the committee to provide for the security, safety, and comfort of our soldiers and veterans.

“As our men and women in uniform continue the fight for freedom around the globe, it is vital that they have the most up-to-date facilities and that our veterans receive the best possible care at top notch hospitals.

“In the 113th Congress, I will continue to look for inefficient programs and cut initiatives that are not producing results in order to reduce federal spending levels.”
