CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 666

October 12, 2007

TO: Printing and Publishing Officials of the Federal Government

SUBJECT:Fiscal Year 2008 Open Requisitions for the Federal Register (FR) and Calendar Year 2008 Open Requisitions Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)

This letter is to ask for your assistance in obtaining open requisitions for the FR and CFR. Some agencies that regularly use the Federal Register to provide the public with important information about their regulations and programs have not provided GPO with a requisition to pay for this publishing service, as required by statute.

United States Code, TITLE 44--PUBLIC PRINTING AND DOCUMENTS, Chapter 15, Section 1509 states the following:

Reimbursements for such costs and expenses shall be made by the Federal agencies and credited, together with all receipts, as provided in section 309(b)

To allow sufficient time for processing and enable us to provide timely billing to our customers, we have established a cut-off date of November 12, 2007, for receiving FR and CFR open requisitions.

Please provide a separate SF 1 for each Billing Address Code (BAC) that publishes in the FR and/or CFR. For those using more than one BAC for information being published in the CFR please include on your SF 1 the CFR Title number, Chapter and Part(s) that the BAC is to be associated with.

Your requisitions should be forwarded to:

Customer Services, Printing Support Operation,
Requisition Section, Stop CSA, Rm. C-825,
U.S. Government Printing Office,
Washington, D.C. 20401.

NOTE: All requisitions submitted must be signed by your agency’s authorized personnel as reflected in our agency signature files.

Sincerely,

JIM BRADLEY
Managing Director, Customer Services
