Rep. Brooks Receives Chamber of Commerce 'Spirit of Enterprise' Award

Florence, AL – Today, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), along with Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04), was presented the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ award at the Shoals Chamber of Commerce Luncheon.

Rep. Brooks said, “I appreciate being recognized by the Chamber for my work in the 112th Congress. As an advocate for lower taxes and small business, I will continue to support policies that encourage economic growth and eliminate barriers for our business community.”

Brooks continued, “Free enterprise is necessary to continue growth and development within the Shoals and across our district. I am thankful for the support the Chamber provides. We are truly blessed with local leaders who reflect the pro-business values that help make the 5th District and America great.”

Brooks concluded, “It is truly a benefit to have two Congressmen now representing the Shoals. I am honored to receive this award along with Congressman Aderholt, and I know we will continue to work together in support of the region.”

The Chamber's ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ award is given annually to members of Congress with a notable voting record on issues important to the business community.  The Chamber scored Congress on 16 House votes in 2011. Senators and House members who supported the Chamber's position on at least 70% of these ‘key votes’ received the ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ award.
