OPERATION SOLEMN PROMISE (OSP) is an annual remembrance which allows us to reflect on why we took the oath and dedicated ourselves to the greatest profession on Earth.

The overarching goals of OSP are:

    • Celebrate OSP as a foundational aspect of who we are
    • Maintain the momentum of OSP and the values discussion
    • Generate a deeper understanding of our privilege to serve
    • Highlight what it means to be professional soldiers, civilians, and local nationals

The 2012 OSP commemoration ceremony (Nov. 16) will focus on a recommitment to the "PROFESSION OF ARMS." The Army profession is a noble and selfless calling founded on the bedrock of trust, both internally amongst our Soldiers, Civilians and Families, and with the American people who we serve. Renewing our understanding of our profession will help us to:

    • Address those areas where we struggle to maintain the highest standards
    • Focus and succeed in an era of persistent conflict
    • Maintain the best led and best trained force in the world
    • Prepare leaders for the challenges of tomorrow
  • Winners from 2012 OSP Values Campaign
