  1. If you’re off to the movies this week to see the new film Zero Dark Thirty, please keep in mind the sacrifices made by our service men and women, and their families. The film takes liberties with the truth about the hunt for Osama bin Laden.... It was not one person, not one act that led to his capture, but a decade-long collaborative effort by the greatest intelligence community and military in the world. Before you see the movie, I ask that you read the statement made by Acting CIA Director Michael Morell. And please remember: sometimes a movie is still just a movie.See More

Hey Patrick. Wondering how much bood money you will be taking from the NRA in next years re-election campaign. I would love to let the folks in Newtown how much you care about the tragedy. You are a gutless coward if you don't stand up to the NRA and vote for the Feinstein bill.

    • Vote against any firearms ban and preserve the integrity of our 2nd amendment rights. Please focus on mental illness in our society, where the real problem lies.

    • Hello Congressman, It was discussed on this mornings political talk shows about the amount of "pork" that was built into the relief bill for Sandy victims. Where can I go to review the dollars rolled into the bill for "pork" and the "pork" dollar sponsors? thank you.

  3. Today the House passed legislation authorizing emergency funding for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The House made the right decision to quickly move this legislation forward so we can help our neighbors in need.

  5. It is my honor to serve the people of the 7th congressional district for a second term. Every day, I appreciate the great privilege that it is to represent the voice of our district in Congress. Our country is facing many great challenges indeed, and there is much work ahead for the 113th Congress.
  6. Last night I voted to make the middle class tax cuts permanent and protect our fragile economy. It was an imperfect agreement to be sure. I would have preferred it to contain action to get our arms around our outrageous debt. But failure to... pass it would have had disastrous consequences for middle-class families in Pennsylvania and fueled even more Washington spending. 7. I’d like to thank all of you for your comments regarding the fiscal cliff negotiations. I remain eager to get to an agreement that prevents massive tax hikes on middle class families and small businesses, and avoids the fiscal cliff that ec...onomists agree will put our country back into a recession. The House has acted to prevent the entire fiscal cliff and now we await action from the Senate. Yesterday, while in Washington, I spoke with a reporter from The Philadelphia Inquirer and offered some comments about the negotiations. Here is a link to the article:See More
  8. From my family to yours, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope you are enjoying this holiday season with your loved ones.
  9. Great news to report. The House has just passed the final version of legislation that includes the Recalcitrant Cancer Research Act. This will go a long way in helping fight devastating diseases like pancreatic cancer, which has the lowest survival rate among the most common forms of cancer. I’ve been a long supporter of this bill and I look forward to it soon becoming law.
  10. Many of you may have heard about Jon Hammar, the U.S. Marine being held prisoner in Mexico since August. Today I joined a bipartisan letter to Sec. Clinton and Sec. Napolitano asking for their assistance in seeing that Jon is released and reunited with his family for the holidays. Read Jon’s story and the letter here:
  11. Today I hosted a roundtable discussion about autism at the Child Resources Center in Havertown. After our recent Congressional hearing on this issue, I remain concerned that our national approach to addressing the rising rates of autism is ...lacking. With 1 in 88 children diagnosed with ASD, we must ensure that we are providing the necessary care and services for these children and their families. Today we heard from some local advocates and service organizations that are on the front lines working with those touched by this issue every day. Read more about today’s discussion here:See More
