Animal shelter’s pet-themed gingerbread house contest raises money, builds family traditions

The Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter recently sponsored a pet-themed gingerbread contest as a way to help the shelter while also engaging the community. The contest raised $300, enough to fund 60 vaccinations for shelter pets, and the shelter plans to make the contest an annual event.
