Forgive Keith Parsons for being a tad blissed out. The 35-year-old salesman, born in Redskins country, married into a Ravens clan and carrying a lifelong torch for the Orioles, is pretty sure he's having the best sports year of his life. As the Ravens and the Redskins head into playoff games this weekend, even after Washington and Baltimore tasted similar glory in baseball, for the region's fans, chests are puffed, hearts swelling, eyes shining. After two days on life support, Aaliyah Boyer was pronounced dead Thursday at a Delaware hospital. The 10-year-old (inset) was struck in the head by a falling bullet someone apparently fired into the air while celebrating the New Year. The Cecil County death prompted Aaliyah's family, including her mother Crystal Blackburn (pictured) to urge people to consider the consequences of firing into the air. |
