Coast Guard tows disabled sailboat from 17 miles off NC coastThe Coast Guard rescued two people Sunday aboard a 43-foot sailboat that was disabled and adrift approximately 17 miles east of Oregon Inlet, N.C.

'Battle of the Bay' boosts teamwork and moraleThe first Coast Guard Sector Baltimore Olympics was held Feb. 16, at the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore. Teams made up from more than 40 Coast Guard Reserve members from stations Washington, D.C., Curtis Bay, Md., and St. Inigoes, Md., as well as Sector Baltimore’s Vessel Boarding and Security Team, Incident Management Department, Prevention Department and Servicing Personnel Office, gathered to participate in a variety of events to earn the newly coveted “Battle of the Bay” award plaque.

A Coast Guard boatcrew from Station Tillamook Bay in Garibaldi, Ore., medically evacuated a 64-year-old crew member from a commercial fishing vessel in the Pacific Ocean approximately two nautical miles west of the entrance to Tillamook Bay, Wednesday afternoon.
