News: U.S. Marine, Townsend, Delaware Native Promoted to Sergeant

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -Townsend, Delaware, native and Middletown High School class of 2004 graduate, Sgt. Rebekah Williams was promoted to her present rank during a formation at Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group (MCSCG) aboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story, Va., Nov. 1.
Sergeant Williams is currently serving as an intelligence analyst and deputy family readiness officer at MCSCG.
She joined the Marine Corps in 2004 shortly after graduating high school.
Prior to checking into MCSCG in 2011, Williams served as an intelligence specialist with Second Intelligence Battalion, Second Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF), Camp Lejeune, N.C. from August 2009 to June 2011.
Her parents Bill and Nancy Richard reside in Smyrna, Delaware, which is nearby to her hometown of Townsend, Delaware.
Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group is a unit that executes and enables Security Cooperation (SC) Programs, training, planning, and activities in order to ensure unity of effort in support of U.S. Marine Corps and regional Marine Component Command (MARFOR) objectives and in coordination with operating forces and Marine Air-Ground Task Forces.
