Aerospace Education Services Project

The Aerospace Education Services Project, or AESP, is a comprehensive project designed to reach out to the formal and informal education communities in all 50 states and the U.S. territories. The AESP staff consists of specialists who are professional educators assigned to every NASA center. The AESP specialists share NASA's use of emerging instructional technologies and the motivating outcomes of NASA's research, exploration and discovery with education communities and the public. The primary focus of AESP is a professional development effort that serves the K-12 education community by providing in-service training for educators, classroom lesson modeling, distance learning events, pre-service training for university students and identification of appropriate NASA education resources. The project works in collaboration with the entire suite of NASA Education to bring NASA resources into the hands of teachers. AESP now provides more opportunities to explore and discuss NASA's education materials through online office hours and webinars. The office hours provide a university-style opportunity to connect with NASA education specialists, to ask questions about materials and to consult on ideas for bringing the excitement of NASA to their students. The webinars are a series of approximately one-hour virtual presentations that highlight many of NASA's educational activities and lessons. AESP also provides online professional development opportunities through
NEON: NASA Educator's Online Network. Through NEON, educators can find resources, speak with other educators and meet NASA scientists and engineers.
