The Southwest Washington Fire Prevention Council is a group of agencies, businesses and private individuals with a common goal: To prevent unwanted fires in the communities of Southwest Washington.

WELCOME!
We’ve pulled together a whole lot of fire safety information that you and your family need to be fire safe at home and in the wildlands. We invite you to peruse our site for interesting stuff on outdoor burning, fireworks, camping, spark arrestors, smoke alarms, escape plans, chimney fire safety, and much more. We’ve done our best to anticipate what you’re looking for and present that information directly and succinctly. Enjoy your stay and let us know what you think.

We have been working toward this mission in Southwest Washington since 1976. For over 30 years we've brought Smokey bear to thousands of first graders, spread news releases on fire safety topics to local media and had booths at yearly community events. In 2004, our team teaching program was brought to over 3000 youngsters in Skamania, Clark, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties. Our participation in this years county fairs, and other community events will reach thousands. This web site is designed to give the communities of Southwest Washington locally relevant information on all aspects of fire prevention; from campfire safety to chimney fire prevention and all topics in between. We hope you find it useful and maybe even entertaining.
