Nobody asked me but: Got a hunch Wisconsin made smartest move of 2012 on college football coaching carousel by hiring Gary Andersen.

CONFIRMED: Owner Dick Monfort & GM Dan O'Dowd will be in-studio with and I on Wednesday's show.

if you are older than me you got no time to waste. Go fight a worthy uphill battle. Small one. Big one. One that makes sense 2 u.

Yep even a task as relatively straightforward as climbing a 14er is an uphill battle. But the view from the top is pretty sweet.

This is as real as I can make it: I have no time for post modern fatalistic hipster cynicism. U r 2 smart for empty words.

What was in that DC pub was not outrage. It was people wishing they could do something. Leadership gives motivated people a task.

If my little twitter corner proves anything it should be: Just cuz I like poking holes in overinflated balloons doesn't make me a cynic.

I don't flatter myself by asking my neighbors for ideas to solve community problems. I do it because I love the neighborhood.

I mention Newtown and folks want to place me in column A or B on gun control debate when solutions are somewhere else.

Anyone who thinks my humble little pep talk of hope is about gun control misses the point. By a long shot.

Anybody who accuses me of warm or fuzzy is obviously bringing mindless snark. Cuz it is easy.

And now back to the sports hullabaloo. Who has your vote for NFL MVP? Manning? Peterson? Brady? Tebow (based on ESPN mentions)?

Violence. Debt. Energy. Where do you want to roll your sleeves up and get started? Or would you rather gripe we're powerless?

Anything hard is never easy, what is easy is to say nothing can be done about any big issue. Easy. And cynical.

Yes, "advancing an agenda" has become politicized as something bad, when an agenda of people can be strong country at work.

So sez: Unite behind what? I say: Vow to give next generation better future in honor of Newtown kids who had future stolen.

I am not a political cat because I have no time for politics of finger pointing. But there is big work to be done. Let's start. Now.

And now back to our regularly scheduled breathless sports babel. Broncos! Super Bowl contenders! Omg! Aargh!

Maybe Aurora theater tragedy made me numb. But reaction I saw in DC pub makes me feel Newtown can stop nationwide fight to let nation unite.
