United States and Israeli militaries compete against one another during sports day at Hazor, Israel while participating in Austere Challenge 2012. Sports day events include launcher set-up, missile reloading, soccer and basketball. The day was developed as a way to increase comradely and togetherness between the two partner countries. Each nation won two events, and received trophies and medals to conclude the day. Austere Challenge 2012 (AC 12) is a large-scale air defense field training and command post simulation exercise designed to improve interoperability between the U.S. and Israeli militaries.
