Tonight, ABC broadcast the excellent, ever-relevant “The Sound of Music” movie, as it does every year around this time. As you know (or should), it’s the story of the family of Baron Georg Johannes von Trapp, an Austro-Hungarian Navy officer who was highly decorated for his World War I heroism. But his true heroism was that which is recounted in the musical: his refusal to give in to Nazi evil, a principled stand for which he gave up everything he had–a wonderful, luxurious, well-appointed life. A short while ago, I tweeted about “The Sound of Music” (follow me on Twitter), saying “They don’t make ‘em like they used to.”

With this tweet, I was thinking about how there are few movies and musicals like this because there is little courage left in the West. My Twitter follower Tom Odell was on top of this and tweeted back at me, “Georg von Trapp walked away from every luxury of life b/c he would not join evil. Could U imagine Obama doing same thing?” My response was that I believe very few Westerners or Western leaders would do the same: “I can imagine few Westerners doing the same these days. People have no guts, no backbone, and no principles.” And I elaborated on it at my Facebook fan page (join by liking here):

Twitter Follower Tom Odell responded to my tweet about “The Sound of Music,” noting: “Georg von Trapp walked away from every luxury of life b/c he would not join evil.” He asked if I could imagine Obama doing that today. But, sadly, it’s not just Obama. I can imagine few Westerners and Western leaders doing the right thing b/c they are selfish and PC morons. I can’t imagine George W. Bush walking away (and he didn’t, instead embracing Muslims), I can’t imagine Mitt Romney walking away, I can’t imagine John Boehner walking away, and frankly, I can’t imagine most conservatives walking away. I’ve said before on this site that I think suicide is the most selfish act a person can commit, especially someone with a family. Loved ones will always blame themselves and it’s an irreversible final act that only hurts them, while the perpetrator isn’t around to face the forever tragedy that he or she caused. That said, I can’t second guess the tragic behavior of American soldiers at war in Afghanistan, where we never should have gone because, as in Vietnam, we had no intention of fighting a war and, instead, put our men out there as open meat for the Muslim jackals while they built stupid roads and handed out candy to those who hate us. And so it goes with Navy SEAL Team Four Commander Job W. Price, who apparently committed suicide in Afghanistan, yesterday (Saturday). We have no idea the kinds of things he saw over there, and I can’t help but not the irony of his first name and the many tragedies that struck his Biblical namesake.

Say a prayer for his family, especially the wife he left a widow and the daughter he left without a father. I cannot even imagine what that must be like, especially right before Christmas. Why would someone take his life and leave his family bereft, especially at the holiday season, if at all? I’m sure they are asking the same question in their grief. Read the rest of this entry »

Watch this “Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence” video, below. It’s been all over the news today, as the media pushes for more gun control and infringements on the Second Amendment. Every single one of these celebrities–many of whom live in gated communities, have bodyguards, and otherwise live with expensive security the average person could never afford–want to take your guns away. I’ve compiled a nearly complete listing of everyone in the video, below.

On this site, I’ve criticized the “Trusted Traveler” programs many times because they are a means for terrorists and others with evil, criminal intent to get easier access to sneak contraband onto planes or into the U.S. from a foreign country. And, as I’ve noted, most if not all of the 9/11 hijackers (plus other terrorists, like Nidal Malik Hasan) would have been granted admission into the Trusted Traveler programs. Now, I’ve been proven right about the problems with the program.

(To those who don’t know, Trusted Traveler programs allow a person with no criminal record to go through a background check and get a card which enables them to speed through security at airports and border checkpoints, allowing them less than the normal security screenings. The program costs a few hundred dollars to join.)

Today, I received this press release from the Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection about a seizure the agency did Monday at the Detroit Windsor Tunnel. The suspect claims he/she “forgot” the gun, but did he/she? Would love to know the person’s name.

With Christmas in just a few days, this is the time that Hollywood is supposed to put out its biggest, best blockbusters. Instead, they give us schlock, which is the best descriptor for the new movies at theaters, this weekend.

* “Hyde Park on Hudson“: A while ago I wrote on this site about a disgusting scene in a movie in which a President I don’t even like is shown getting manually masturbated by someone. That was this movie, as some readers correctly guessed. It’s Hollywood’s way of attacking and taking down every single authority figure in American history, even the uber-liberal, statist ones they revere. This long, slow, boring, creepy movie presents an even creepier version of Franklin D. Roosevelt than anything I’ve seen on any President. FDR (played by Bill Murray) is portrayed as a sleazy, sex-obsessed weirdo, who doesn’t let a visit to his Hyde Park estate by the King and Queen of England get in the way of his conquests of multiple members of his harem. Yesterday, my inbox was buzzing with e-mails from former University of Wisconsin athletes I tutored when I was a grad student at the University of Wisconsin School of Law and, after that, at the University of Wisconsin Business School. The e-mails were about their friend, Suzy Favor Hamilton, the former Wisconsin track star, three-time U.S. Olympian, and–as it was revealed yesterday–a high-priced hooker. I was surprised, but maybe I shouldn’t have been.

At the time I was a tutor for the University of Wisconsin Athletic Department, Favor Hamilton sometimes hung around campus, where she often trained and we often saw her at parties and athletic department events and fundraisers, including “Butch’s Bologna Bash,” a giant party held at the Wisconsin Athletic Department Fieldhouse where I didn’t eat the stuff (because I keep kosher). She was beautiful with all-American good looks, and she was stiletto-thin, almost anorexic-looking as many full-time professional runners are. She seemed nice to me. But most of the athletes I knew dissed her and dismissed her as a self-centered airhead and a ditz.

I tutored mostly football and hockey players (until I was fired after I wrote an op-ed piece in the Wisconsin State Journal about how many of the athletes couldn’t compete academically and were unfairly coddled and subsidized by other students and taxpayers). And I became friends with many of those I tutored, who were just a couple of years younger than me or so, and we kept in touch. You made a difference, dear readers and friends, and I want to thank you. Your activism and hard work accomplishes things and achieves results, as in the case of Donya Berry.

Early in the week I told you about Donya Berry Paniccia, a Dearbornistan Shi’ite Muslim gun control advocate from a prominent Hezbollah family. As I reported, Berry Paniccia responded to the Sandy Hook massacre of 26 by tweeting, “N-ggers should not be allowed to get their license [sic].” After I exposed her, Berry erased the racist, disgusting tweet, but it is saved on this site for posterity. (Follow me on Twitter.)

In response to her racist tweet, several readers contacted Twitter to report her. And her account is now gone from Twitter,w which you’ll note if you check it out at Twitter.com/DonyaBerry. I’m not sure if Twitter removed her or if the racist Muslima, herself, deactivated her account after the avalanche of tweets back at her after we exposed her racism here. You knew this was coming. It’s all the Joooooos’ and Israel’s fault that the shooting of 26 people happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Watch this video from Iran’s Press TV, featuring three Americans, including Mike Harris, an editor of the very popular and deceptively-named Veterans Today website. He says that the Israelis did the Sandy Hook shootings with the help of “Hollywood Zionists” (if only he knew that the Jews in Hollywood ain’t no Zionists, not even close). This is absolutely disgusting and par for the course of what happens on Iran’s Nazi TV. I regret that I have to post the embed from Harris’ friends’ anti-Semitic “SheenNews” channel. (For those who don’t know, “sheeny” is an anti-Semitic slur.) Harris’ comments start at around 10:20 into the video. Interesting that the only advocate of the Second Amendment that Iran “managed” to find is a Jew-hater. It’s like adding insult to injury to the Jewish Pozner family, whose six-year-old son, Noah, was one of the victims of Adam Lanza’s massacre. Adam Lanza, not Israeli, not a Jew.

It’s beyond hilarious that Iran is calling out America for “gun violence.” After all, Iran’s regular practice of torture for saying the wrong thing, being a Jew, or just wearing the wrong color is soooo much better. It says a lot about blithering liberal whack job Piers Morgan that even the liberal New York Times was taken aback by his obnoxious, unhinged behavior on last night’s edition of his little-watched CNN show. The New York Times accurately said Morgan was “losing it” when he was unable to respond with reasoned arguments to the well-reasoned, well-spoken, and even-keeled Gun Owners of America chief Larry Pratt. Instead, because he could not refute Pratt’s terrific arguments and solid statements, Morgan resorted to utter rudeness, belittling Pratt and calling him an “idiot.” The thing is, the exchange made quite clear that Pratt was the brilliant one, Morgan the obvious idiot. He’s just obnoxious. You must watch the video, below. Pratt cleaned Morgan’s clock, and Morgan couldn’t handle it (he clearly needs medication or anger management or something). I also think that his last attack on Pratt was because he raised the specter of Neville Chamberlain, and I believe that Piers Morgan is so ignorant that he doesn’t know who Chamberlain was or his significance in “fighting the good fight” for capitulation to Nazis (the same fight Morgan seems to be fighting today).

Oh, and by the way, as I’ve noted on this site, before, Piers Morgan was fired from the newspaper he ran in England, after running fake photos of “atrocities” committed by British troops in Iraq, photos that were not only false but which cost some British soldiers their lives. Morgan also helped himself to some insider trading while at the paper, too. (No wonder this jerk is on the Crescent/Coran News Network.) Read the rest of this entry »

I think we’ve found the family of the year: this nutty family, the Festermans. I’m surprised they’re even married (assuming the reporter got that part right and I don’t assume a thing with Detroit’s lying FOX News operation that constantly broadcasts bunk as “fact”). The “father” a/k/a sperm donor really set a great example for his son. Normally, I’d say that filing charges against this guy is going overboard, but in this case, I’d say teach this lying fool a lesson–the one he won’t teach his son, which is why his son brought this stuff to school and sprayed it. These parents seem kind of proud of it all. Very sad. If I were the judge, I’d sentence this guy to a whole day in a room scented with “Liquid Ass.”

Also, why the heck is this “news”? Yet, it was the lead story on Detroit’s FOX News owned-and-operated Detroit FOX 2 News newscast, last night. But, then, that’s typical for this lowest of the low newscasts that panders to an urban audience like much of the rest of its programming.
