Packers lead Bears, 14-7, at halftime

CHICAGO–The Packers led the Bears, 14-7, at halftime of today’s game at Soldier Field.
The Bears opened the scoring with a six-play, 67-yard touchdown drive. Running back Matt Forte did the bulk of the work but it was a short pass from Jay Cutler to Brandon Marshall that lit the scoreboard. Marshall broke attempted tackles by Brad Jones and Casey Hayward to score on a 15-yard play.
Green Bay immediately retaliated with a seven-play, 89-yard touchdown drive that featured a 31- yard completion from Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb on third-and-six, and a 29-yard touchdown pass to James Jones on third-and-four. Both long completions were down the right sideline, where the Packers appeared to have found a weakness. Cornerback Kelvin Hayden is substituting for the injured Tim Jennings on that side of the Bears defense.
With 1:36 to play in the half and the Bears in position to drive for more points, Cutler threw an interception that can only be described as outrageous. He threw the ball directly to Hayward, who leads the Packers with six interceptions. There was no receiver in sight. Hayward returned the pick to the Bears 26.
On third down, Rodgers threw over the middle to Cobb at the 10-yard line. Rodgers then found Jones over the middle for a touchdown pass that gave the Packers a surprising 14-7 lead, given the dramatic turn of events.
The Bears were committed to a strong running game in the first half. Forte carried 13 times for 58 yards.
Green Bay nibbled with the run in the first half, but turned it on with their passing game after falling behind.
Mason Crosby missed a 43-yard field goal attempt. Rodgers has been sacked three times.

I don’t know why MM always seems to abandon the running game if it does’nt immediately get big gains ? It makes us so one dimensional !

Well when it was all said and done the Pack come away with a win. Oh yea and the NFC North division Championship, woo who ! Talk is cheap and when it was time to put up or shut up . The Packers spoke in volumes.The Bears not only suffer a loss but are closer to being out of the playoffs . There is no substitute for a win . The Pack must do something about the kicking game before they get to the playoffs . I have complete confidence in T.T. and M.M. to fix what is broken before it cost the Pack anymore.
