Italian Salsa Verde + {Blendtec Designer Series Blender GIVEAWAY}

I love sauces. It’s only natural since I’m fairly saucy myself. One that I think is pretty under rated is the Italian Salsa Verde aka Green Sauce. It’s bright vibrant and BOLD. There are many many versions of salsa verde depending on which family you ask or even depending on what region you’re from. Some recipes contain bread, anchovies, capers etc. This is the version that I make most often. It’s perfect on chicken, fish, pork as a condiment for sandwiches or even for dipping bread. It’s a multi-tasking work horse of a sauce.

Mussels with Hazelnut Gremolata + Flavor Forecast 2013

It should come as no surprise that I love to cook. My kitchen is my happy place. It’s where in a pair of pink striped pajama pants with my hair a top my head in a hot mess and the radio blaring I feel most creative. Good thing my office attire is casual ; ) You could also say I like playing with knives. Flavor pairings excite me. I love the challenge of opening up the fridge and finding something to throw together for dinner in a hurry. Something that’s not only edible but delicious. That moment when you find unconventional flavors that wouldn’t typically be put together and yet you do and it works. Sweet Sweet Victory.

Nutty Nutella Rolls

Has the baking frenzy begun in your house? It has in mine. I’m giving Ada (no I don’t have a maid, Ada is my KitchenAid stove – don’t you name your appliances? Tell me I’m not the only one.) no rest this month. I’m sure I’ll call Uncle before she does though. I’m impatient. It’s true. Simple is my baking mantra. These little nutty Nutella rolls couldn’t be easier unless you picked them up the bakery. I’ll be serving these as an easy dessert and as a quick and easy breakfast with a side of fruit. Double duty recipes make me happy.

Spicy Rosemary Spaghetti

I’m not sure about you but in my little 2 stoplight town there aren’t many shopping options. Sad but true. Now before you say “bless her heart” we do have a grocery store, it’s just not the biggest in the world. Besides our one grocery store we do have a Dollar General. Which has recently gotten a Red Box and I for one could not be happier, but back to Dollah Dollah store as I affectionately call it. When I need something fast and easy I head there. It’s small and I know where everything is at. I can get in and out quickly. Besides being convenient, they carry A LOT of products. Variety is the spice of life after all.

Boozy Salted Caramel Mocha

Happy Holidays! Now that Thanksgiving is past I’m already thinking about all of the entertaining we’ll be doing from now thru New Year’s Eve. Yes I get a little giddy about things like that. I’m a complete party nerd. There I said it. We like to keep things simple and easy whether we’re entertaining 2 close friends or a group of 20. Besides the usual suspects we like to throw in some holiday beverage flair.

Chicken Cacciatore

If I had to pick my most favorite chicken recipe this one would be it. Chicken Cacciatore. Doesn’t that just sound delicious rolling off the tongue? It’s a one pot wonder and it full of deep down home flavors not to mention you can feed a crowd with it on the cheap. I make it A LOT in the fall/winter months when it’s cold out and I need something to warm me from head to toe (I can only drink so much espresso every day people). I originally shared this recipe when I first started my food blog and I’m pretty sure only 3 people saw the recipe. It might have something to do with that awful photo. Thank goodness my photography skills have improved.
