The 621st Contingency Response Wing's Joint Assessment Team (JAT) specializes in validating airfields. The team consists of a number of specialties including civil engineers, Security Forces, aerial porters, even air traffic controllers. Time is of the essence for the JAT. They preform tests on the runway essential in determining whether the location can support air flow necessary to move cargo in a contingency operation. During the Joint Operation Access Exercise, the 621st's JAT arrived at Mackall Auxillary Airfield, N.C., and quickly got to work preparing the airfield for the coming main body.
