Lauren French is a Congress reporter for POLITICO.

She was formerly a tax policy reporter for POLITICO Pro and the author of Morning Tax.

Before joining POLITICO, she was an intern with Reuters covering national security and foreign policy and with McClatchy and The Houston Chronicle where she did stints on the Hill.

She graduated from The George Washington University in 2012 with a major in journalism, but truly received her education as a two-term editor-in-chief for The GW Hatchet.

French hails from both Illinois and Florida, which at times has caused a personal confusion over whether she is more of a Midwesterner or a Southerner. Beyond enjoying paddle boarding and water sports when in Florida, she is learning to cook and is developing an affinity for the Nationals.
