I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.

Growing up in Bushnell, I've spent tons of time at Dade Battlefield Historic State Park over the years. Even today, a visit is special for me, and I always enjoy the different events the park puts on throughout the year. If you are into Florida history, this is one place you have check out.
This Saturday, Dec. 8, Dade Battlefield Historic State Park is transporting visitors back in time to celebrate Christmas on the Florida Frontier. The event features lots of traditional old Florida craftmaking, music, and a sampling of Florida frontier treats.
Hours for the event are 3-8 p.m., and it's just the reguar park admission ($3 per carload) to attend. For more information, visit www.floridastateparks.com/dadebattlefield or contact Kristin Wood at kristin.n.wood@dep.state.fl.us.
