Who is that masked man?
Don't know if it's just due to Jim Carrey's recent breakup with Jenny McCarthy, but a very good friend of the actor says the always-quirky Carrey has been acting ''even more weird than usual -- but in a way that isn't the fun, weird Jim we all love.''

Renewing 4 years of bliss
It used to be people would renew wedding vows on their 25th or 50th anniversary. Now stars re-up after only a few years, as done last weekend by Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, as well as Heidi Klum and Seal.

As much as some folks want to keep the latest chapter in ''Late Night Wars'' going -- between Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien -- a spokesman for Leno said Thursday, "Jay has very much moved on from that."

Leno has moved on from late-night war with O'Brien
Bill Zwecker: As much as some folks want to keep the latest chapter in ‘‘Late Night Wars’’ going — between Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien — a spokesman for Leno said Thursday, “Jay has very much moved on from that.” Leno’s publicist Bruce Bobbins flatly denied the allegations by a BZ source, claiming Leno was very upset by O’Brien’s “60 Minutes” interview with Steve Croft that aired Sunday.
Berry-Aubry split is bitter
Bill Zwecker: Even though Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry have put out that ''amicable split" talk about their breakup -- it's anything but. First of all, it happened several months ago, after the couple's constant bickering flared up so much and so often, they both realized it was time to move on.

Boreanaz marriage: 'Stable' or sinking fast?
Bill Zwecker: 'Thank God for David Boreanaz! Thanks to him, I might just get
knocked off TMZ and the front page of the Enquirer,'' a source close to Charlie
Sheen tells me the ''Two and a Half Men'' star said somewhat
ruefully Tuesday. The actor was, of course, referring to the ever-growing sex scandal
engulfing the ''Bones'' star.

Carey looks to adoption
Bill Zwecker: At her marriage re-commitment fete Friday with Nick Cannon at their Beverly Hills home, Mariah Carey spoke openly about the couple's deep desire to have a child, a guest tells me. The singing superstar's recent weight gain has reportedly been due to fertility treatments Carey has been undergoing.

Paula plays the diva card
Bill Zwecker: For those wondering why things have been quiet on the Paula Abdul career front -- here's the scoop: According to people close to negotiations between the ex-''American Idol'' judge and those producing Simon Cowell's upcoming ''The X-Factor,'' as well as those planning the relaunch of a new version of ''Star Search,'' it's Abdul's tough contract requirements that have caused delays.

There's a good reason Sandra Bullock's super-hush-hush adoption
of little Louis from New Orleans was such a well-kept secret. The

Bill Zwecker: There’s a good reason Sandra Bullock's super-hush-hush adoption of little Louis from New Orleans was such a well-kept secret. The Oscar winner had "a strategic plan, the best security and help from some real pros," a major Bullock buddy revealed Wednesday.
Dancin' on the sharp edge
Though Whitney Houston's official camp denies the fading diva has fallen off the wagon and blames her recent concert problems on health-related issues, I'm hearing some longtime close Houston friends and family members suspect otherwise.

Tiger Woods may fork over $500 million in divorce
Sounds like the long-rumored divorce filing by Elin Nordegren Woods is rapidly approaching — and the settlement could approach $500 million. A source close to golf superstar Tiger Woods' estranged wife
reports the Swedish beauty has been in ‘‘round-the-clock’’
conversations with a battery of lawyers — both in her native Stockholm
and in the United States, where she actually would file.
Bret Michaels' condition still critical
The music industry honcho, who has worked with Michaels over the years,
said Sunday afternoon that ''everyone around Bret is very emotional
today. ... While the doctors haven't confirmed it for sure, everyone is
convinced the hemorrhaging in his brain has to be connected to his
appendectomy, complicated by the fact he's a diabetic.''

Chasing 'Rainbows'
For Chicago native Aidan Quinn, making his new film, ‘‘A Shine of
Rainbows,’’ was something like a paid vacation in
County Donegal, Ireland. ‘‘I almost felt guilty to take the money,” he said.

As is often the case, friendship pays off. Despite big pitches, allegedly from producers for Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters and Larry King, Sandra Bullock supposedly is currently planning on first discussing her marriage challenges -- thanks to cheatin' hubby Jesse James -- on good buddy George Lopez's talk show.
