Central Texas College (CTC) recently announced it will offer several new classes and certificate programs beginning in the spring 2013 semester. The new classes are in the field of real estate and are part of the Business Administration/Business Management program.
The first new class is Real Estate Finance (RELE 1219). The course covers monetary systems, primary and secondary money markets, sources of mortgage loans, federal government programs, loan applications, processes and procedures, closing costs, alternative financial instruments, equal credit opportunity laws affecting mortgage lending, the Community Reinvestment Act and the state housing agency. It is offered each Monday/Wednesday from 6 – 7:20 p.m.
The second new class is Contract Forms and Addenda (RELE 1200). It focuses on promulgated contract forms and includes unauthorized practice of law, broker-lawyer committee, current promulgated forms, commission rules governing-use forms and case studies involving use of forms. The class is every Thursday from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
In addition to these new classes, CTC has added two new certificate programs and one new degree program for the spring semester. The first certificate program is Basic Mental Health Professional (Level One). It provides the basic skills for students seeking entry level employment prior to completing additional certificates or degrees in the metal health field.
The other new certificate program is the Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist (Level One) which provides a broader employment base for students interested in the substance abuse field with a focus on drug prevention and abuse among youth.
The new degree program is Culinary Arts (HMC 13). This hands-on degree offers courses including introduction to the hospitality industry, basic food preparation, garde manger, saucier, fundamentals of baking, American regional cuisine and international cuisine.
Online registration for the spring 2013 semester begins Monday, November 26. Returning students and those who have completed the admissions/advisement process may then register online using the CTC WebAdvisor system. New students must first complete the admissions/advisement process which also begins November 26 in the CTC Student Services (Bldg. 119) offices. A pre-set advisement schedule has been established and must be followed by all students seeking advisement. The schedule, along with the Spring Schedule Bulletin, is posted on the CTC website using the “Students” link. The first day of the spring semester is Monday, January 14.
